The castles : the closest castles to La Grenouillere are Blois and Talcy, 15 min. away, Chambord , Cheverny, Chaumont and Beauregard are 30 min. away. Special rates negotiated by Gîtes de France, will save you 10 to 20 % depending on the castles.

The Loir Valley : for those who are not great castle fans, the Loir Valley will surprise you with its troglodyte sites in the village of Trôo , the village of Lavardin , classified among the “most beautiful villages of France”, Vendôme and the native house of Pierre de Ronsard named La Possonnière at Couture-sur-Loir.

The Gardens : Nature lovers will enjoy strolling in the gardens of Plessis-Sasnières, the International Festival of the Gardens at Chaumont, the Prieuré of Orchaise and the House of Nature in Marolles.

The sports activities : For the more sport minded, in addition to the activities offered by La Grenouillere, you will find a karting speedway, an aerodrome for U.L.Ms. and aeromodelism (these activities do not affect the tranquility of the house).

For an unforgettable experience, take a trip in a hot-air balloon and photograph the castles in the evening when the sun goes down and when the light turns to ochre, illuminating the facades (booking highly recommended in season).

Golfers will be able to practise their favourite sport at the course in La Carte, 18 km away.

Finally, going out for a row in a“futreau” (flat bottom boat) in the ornithological park of the Loire will delight both young and old.
